Once it happened that, a woman was lamenting at the untimely death of her husband. It was a great chance for her that Buddha was present at that time in her village. So she made her courage and approached easily, asking him to revive her husband. Buddha tried to comfort her, make her see, and understand the reasons for the death of her husband in many ways, but all was in vain because she was not ready to listen to any of the explanations. At last, seeing that he has no success with his explanations, Buddha asked her that I can revive your husband if you bring some rice from a house where nobody died. With a hope that woman left that area, but lingered a few days although she could not found a single house where death had not taken place.
Realizing the absurdity of the gesture, the women asked Buddha to accept her as his disciple. But Buddha refused her request because he had no female disciples. But that lady lies down in front of Buddha and refused to move until she was taken as a disciple by Buddha. After a long time, seeing her determination and her trust towards him, Buddha circumvented two and a half rounds of that lady. By this act, he has erased the entire Karma accumulated in past lives and the present life. She went into “Samadhi” and Buddha left her in peace to continue her spiritual journey. This two and half times of circumvention is called as Fera Or the traditional Fera Technique of Buddhism.
